Option 1: Blended Learning (Online Course with Skills Testing)
The Blended Learning option is a great choice for completing your training with significantly less in-person class time! It is available for both renewal and initial certification, and results in the same certification ecard as a fully in-person class.
For this option, students would complete their training in three steps. First, you would purchase the Pediatric First Aid and CPR Hybrid Course here. You will be emailed your online course and skills test information within 72 hours of placing your order. If you do not receive an email within 72 hours, please contact us.
The second step is to complete the informational portion of your training online. You will be emailed a link to your online class and instructions for getting started. The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid and CPR online course uses video, audio, and interactive activities and is PC and MAC compatible. Students can work at their own pace applying their knowledge to real-time decision making and skills development. Note, you will need to use a laptop or desktop computer to complete this portion of the course. The online course time varies student to student, but takes about 2 hrs on average to complete.
The final step is to complete your in-person skills testing. You must bring a printed copy of your online class completion certificate to your appointment to submit to your instructor. We have a variety of skills testing sessions available, which are directly below for you to choose from. Skills testing takes approximately 45 min-1 hr. Private skills testing may be available to you at a higher rate, please contact us for more information.
**Please note: If you are a childcare provider in the state of California, per EMSA guidelines, you may be required to take the fully in person training course that we offer. Please contact the EMSA for further questions.
Fees for Blended Learning Course: $41 for class materials (online course, ecard, and other skills test materials) and $48 for skills testing during prescheduled dates for a Total of $89
Skills Testing Appointment Calendar
TRAINING UPDATE JANUARY 2021: Currently a stay at home order is still in place for California, which means we will not be offering in-person training/skills testing in January. Ultimately it is up to your employer/schooling authority as to whether they are willing to extend your CPR expiration date due to this, but we are able to write a letter encouraging them to do so based on the current recommendations from the American Heart Association during the pandemic. If you would like us to write a letter like this please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you’ve already discussed this option with your employer and they are absolutely unwilling to except an extension and are requiring your certification in order for you to continue working as an essential worker, please email us and we can see what other options we can provide in order to ensure that you may continue working.
Option 2: Fully In-Person Training Course
For this option, students would complete all their training in one day at a pre-scheduled, in-person training session. This option offers the most hands on practice. Available class dates are listed below. Course location details are emailed when students enroll in the course. To sign-up and pay for a course, please click here. This course meets the requirements for new certification as well as renewal certification.
Course Fee: $54 (Plus $25 for Mandatory Course Textbook, Certification card, and other training materials for a Total of $79) (For questions regarding the class textbook, please see our FAQ page)
This option is currently on hold at the moment due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Individuals are encouraged to completed our hybrid course option. Private Groups may schedule hybrid training or the fully in-person course.
Option 3: Private In-Person Training
This option is available for groups of 5 or more for the same price as Option 2 for individuals (if you have a group of 4 or less and wish to schedule a private training, this option may be available to you at a higher cost. Please contact us for details).
