Life First Training Center offers a wide range of classes for children! We offer all of the below classes as "Field Trips" a private training that can be brought to your school/facility. This would be a great option for schools, scout troops, parent groups, and more! There are many reasons to consider scheduling a field trip through Life First Training Center, including:

Some of these classes are also available for individuals to register for through Manteca Parks and Recreation, which include the Babysitter Complete, Abuse and Abduction Prevention, and CPR for Kids.

CPR for Kids (Recommended for grades 5th-12th)
Life First Training Center has taught over 6000+ children ages 8-18yrs CPR to date. Some of these children have actually used their training in real life situations. CPR for Kids is an age appropriate course that teaches CPR, relief of choking and how to use an AED. CPR for Kids/Schools has its own information page with several different training options for completing this training to fit your needs. Child Abuse and Abduction Prevention (Recommended for grades 1st-5th)
Children will learn life saving information on the topics of abuse and abduction prevention, including stranger danger, being aware of "groomers" and the importance of saying no to uncomfortable and/or inappropriate situations, techniques for preventing and escaping dangerous situations and much more. Course content is age appropriate and kid friendly. Parents and teachers are free to stay and observe if preferred. Our Child Abuse and Abduction Course is offered both to individuals through the Manteca Parks and Recreation Department, and for groups as a field trip option.
Our Abuse and Abduction Prevention class is also offered to individuals at our Yucaipa location and at various parks and recreation departments on occasion. Please email us for more information.

The Babysitter Complete (Recommended for grades 6th-12th)
The Babysitter Complete Course was designed for anyone age 11 and over interested in caring for young children. In this course participants will learn CPR, Pediatric First Aid, taking care of a sick child, dealing with emergencies, indoor and outdoor child safety, basic child development, and skills for entertaining young children. Students will also learn how to make a resume and find babysitting jobs. You will receive a course certificate and CPR and Pediatric First Aid card upon course completion.
This is one of our longer more expensive kids courses. However, it’s also one of our most popular courses. The reason for this is because the course includes such a wide variety of information. Students take the same Pediatric First Aid and CPR training that is required for all childcare providers in the state of California. This course is EMSA approved for childcare providers and is extremely thorough. The course comes with an American Heart Association book and CPR First Aid certification card.
Our Babysitter Complete a.k.a. Babysitter Certification program is also offered to individuals at our Yucaipa location and at various parks and recreation departments on occasion. Please email us for more information.
Course Length: 8hrs
Course Cost: $89 per student with a minimum of 10 paid participants (which includes course textbook, handouts, AHA EMSA Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification, face shield and take away prize. Example: Pencils, stickers, bookmark, etc. Prizes are different for different age groups.)

Healthy Kids for Life (Recommended for grades 1st-6th)
Did you know that over 17% of the children in America are considered Obese! Life First Training Center has made educating children on the importance of making healthy choices a top priority. We accomplish this through comprehensive training presented in an engaging and child appropriate manner. The Healthy Kids for Life program uses a variety of learning techniques, including instructor-led presentation, video instruction, interactive instruction and games. As an American Heart Association training center, we put a strong emphasis on heart health into our training. We will not only teach children about the importance of making healthy choices, but we also educate them on how the choices they make can impact them for the rest of their lives. We teach the "Big Picture."
Course Length: 2hrs

The Children's Safety Club (Recommended for grades K-5th)
Children will learn about several different areas of Child Safety, including 911 and The Emergency System, Fire Safety, and Indoor and Outdoor Safety. Course content is age appropriate and kid friendly. Children will have fun while learning valuable safety lessons. The program was designed with the help of early childhood education professionals, pediatric healthcare professionals, and other child advocates.

Bullying and Character Education (Recommended for grades 1st-6th)
This program gently encourages children to realize that their words and behavior towards others are potent, and have the power to make others feel happy or hurt. Students will also learn simple, easy-to-understand techniques to help them deal with bullies, develop refusal skills, and become more assertive.

The Kids Emergency Response Training Program (Recommended for grades 5th-12th)
The KERT program is a course designed to prepare children in 5th-12th grades for emergency situations. Participants will learn basic first aid, CPR for all ages, relief of choking for all ages, AED use, child safety, poisoning prevention and more.
Course Length: 5hrs depending on class size and breaks (On-site classes may be able to be broken into 2 days if needed)

Steering Clear of Drugs (Recommended for grades 5th-12th)
Students are educated to the dangers of street drugs, medicines, addiction & your brain and learn the importance of saying no. This course offers targeted, age-appropriate drug education that is essential to safeguarding students against the hazards of drug use.

First Aid for Kids (Recommended for grades 5th-12th)
This First Aid training course is designed specifically for children. Recommended age range is 8-18 years. Course content is fun and age appropriate. Children will learn the importance of staying calm and calling 911 in emergency situations. Students will also have the opportunity to learn about specific emergencies and practice with First Aid equipment. Examples of topics covered include bleeding control and bandaging, allergic reactions, choking and breathing emergencies, fainting, seizures, burns, head/neck/spine injuries, and more. Upon course completion, student will receive a course completion certificate (please note, this class does not provide an AHA certification card. If a student requires a certification card for job/schooling, please see our basic Heartsaver course options).

Teddy Bear First Aid (Recommended for grades Kindergarden-4th)
Children are invited to attend this fun and informative introduction to First Aid. Participants will learn a variety of basic First Aid techniques and the importance of staying calm and calling 911. Children can bring their favorite stuffed animal to practice with.
